K-ON! CHARACTERS

She joins the light music club, mistakenly believing "light music" = "lighthearted music" (like whistling). She takes up the guitar with absolutely no prior experience. She tends to rely on her instincts and do things her own way. She loves sweets and cute things.

She was planning on joining the literary club, but Ritsu, her childhood friend, drags her into joining the light music club. Serious and an excellent student, she is so shy, she chooses to play the bass guitar, even though she has the best figure of all the band members, because the guitar draws too much attention. Her skill with the bass guitar is considerable.

Not being a detail-oriented person, she chooses the drums, saying she cannot handle instruments that require meticulous precision. She has known Mio since kindergarten and she is always messing with her. She has an odd talent for doing impressions of other people and speaking like a narrator.

Yui's childhood friend and a member of the student council. She is always calm and collected, but she can be scary when she gets angry. She understands Yui and watches over her as a kind of protector.

Yui's younger sister by one year. Good-natured and unassuming, she is a good cook and fully able to do all household chores, making her a very capable younger sister. She also gets excellent grades and she even occasionally helps Yui, her elder sister, with her schoolwork.

The new first year member of the light music club. She is in the same class as Ui, Yui's younger sister. She is very serious and the easygoing atmosphere of the light music club, such as their tea times, bothers her. She is quite good with the guitar, which she started playing in elementary school due to her parents' influence.

The light music club adviser. Beautiful and ladylike, she is quite popular with the students, but... She considers the light music club her emotional oasis where she can go back to being herself. She is an alumna of their school, Sakura High. A photo of her from when she was a student leads her to becoming their adviser. She is a solid guitar player.
